I have always had a love affair with being able to carry around with me just the right things for just the right moments…never too much, never too little but always enough.

At the age of three I began to carry around a plastic grocery bag with me throughout the house, putting in it any and everything that I possibly could, just in case I needed it.

A red crayon, my mother’s white slip, an empty soda bottle and a lemon Chap Stick were my favorites.  When I was four I received my very first purse for my birthday.  It was a petal pink patent leather purse about the size of a paperback, with graduated scalloped edges and a big silver snap to keep it closed.  And from then on, I carried something…

My foray into making bags initially started as a favor to a fervent quilter that needed a large bag to carry her equipment; and after that things took on a life of their own.  I have been designing and making custom bags for almost 7 years and sewing for far longer.  

When I began my bag work I worked only in cotton but have since embraced the versatility of leather, silk and vinyl in an effort to touch as many eyes and palates as I can.  I am constantly looking for a new way to express style in everything that I create, as well as offer people an opportunity to interact with my art.  This is my craft, an extension of self…this is my ART.    

ARTacles are not meant to be worn, they are meant to be exhibits showcasing your fashion sense and all that everyone else isn’t - comfortable enough to be…you.
